Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Novira you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What Novira is

Novira is a free, manual-entry personal finance Progressive Web App. It is not a bank, broker, payment processor, financial advisor, accountant, or regulated financial service. It is a tool for you to record and reflect on your own spending.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country (16 in much of the EEA and the UK), whichever is higher.

4. Your account

You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for activity that happens under your account. If you sign in with Google, account security is also subject to your Google account's protections.

5. Your content

The data you enter — transactions, notes, receipt photos, goals, and so on — is yours. You grant Novira a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and transmit that data only to run the service for you, including sending it to the sub-processors named in the Privacy Policy.

6. AI features

Receipt scanning, the Insights chat, and monthly and yearly recaps are powered by Anthropic Claude. AI outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased — treat them as suggestions, never as authoritative numbers, and verify anything important. AI providers may log requests for abuse prevention as described in their own terms.

7. No financial advice

Budget summaries, projections, run-rate forecasts, charts, and any text generated by the app are for personal awareness only. Nothing in Novira is financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Talk to a qualified professional before making decisions that matter.

8. Manual entry and accuracy

Novira does not connect to your bank and cannot verify your data. You're responsible for the accuracy and completeness of everything you enter or import.

9. Acceptable use

Please don't:

• reverse engineer or attempt to bypass security or rate limits;
• scrape or automate the app in a way that puts undue load on it;
• use the AI features to process other people's personal data without their consent;
• use the service for unlawful activity, harassment, or fraud;
• attempt to access data that doesn't belong to you.

10. Service availability

Novira is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. There is no uptime guarantee. The app is solo-developed and actively evolving — features may be added, changed, or removed without notice. Offline mode is best-effort and may be inconsistent across browsers.

11. Third-party services

Using Novira means data you trigger sending will reach the sub-processors named in the Privacy Policy (Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, Google, Mapbox, Photon, ExchangeRate API, and your browser's push gateway). Their own terms govern what they do with that data.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Novira disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy of AI output, and uninterrupted availability.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of Novira is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or financial decisions made based on app data. Because the service is currently free, aggregate liability is capped at ₹0 or the amount you have paid for the service in the last twelve months, whichever is greater.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify the developer of Novira against claims arising from your misuse of the service or from data you entered that you weren't authorised to handle (for example, another person's financial details added without their consent).

15. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Before doing so, you can export your data from the same screen (CSV, PDF, ICS). Novira may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or threaten the integrity of the platform.

16. Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated as the app evolves. Material changes are communicated through the in-app “What's new” announcement and reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
